First of all, what the hell is up with those photographers? I saw more of them, than I saw of the bands. The little shits were all over: on stage, in front of the stage, behind the stage, endless flashing and walking around. I didn't come there to look at some kids stroll around the stage taking pictures; I came to see some kids play music. Three or four chicks and some guy crawled around the stage like cockroaches for the entire fucking evening. Your daddy got you a new reflex camera?! Fine. Behave. It ain’t no God damned photo session, you don’t own the fucking stage. So fuck you, eat shit and die slow, you assholes. Strangely, the musician’s didn’t mind. So that being the general atmosphere, along with the stage constantly steam-smoked (what's up with that?) – I didn’t take any pictures of my own.
With a bottle of wine consumed on the way (don’t buy anything from the Tavor winery – it’s overpriced shit), I came in time to see Phantom Pain, they exactly started playing. Not bad. Nice sounding death metal, a bit slow to my taste. Well played. However, I didn’t hear anything I haven’t heard before in the genre. I don’t think I would recognize their music upon hearing it and say “Hey, that’s Phantom Pain”, they are still ok to listen to and nice vocals indeed. The teen-aged crowd produced some soft and annoying pogo choreography – you couldn’t really stand near the stage without being pushed by angry midgets – just not enough room. Pushed some people myself, but it wasn’t really interesting. The older crowd set itself around the bar, which is not so far away from the stage though, and drank beer with bored faces. It was my first visit to “Sublime”, the joint is ok, neat interior, but I wouldn’t call it a club – it’s a big bar with a medium sized stage. Not more then 200 people would fit in there, if they are to be able to breathe and move. The sound was ok with occasional downfalls here and there, especially on the microphones.
GodWrath’s show was quite disappointing. After seeing a 30 minutes long, concentrated, angry and fast performance in Jerusalem a few months ago, I expected something of that kind. Musically, everything was ok, but the large amount of endless bullshitting between the songs simply ruined the drive. Too many words, too many “special guests”, too many 'thank you’s. Basically, it wasn’t a gig, it was a party with some musical background. Finally I just got annoyed and wanted to go, but the show ended. There were problems with the vocals; occasionally you just barely heard them. The cover to Sepultura was good, the cover to Slipknot was much better then the original. Anyhow, I didn’t give up on the band; hope to see them next time in better conditions.
Pissed off and sober, I went home without buying the E.P. as planned. I don’t think I’ll go to any release events any soon.

קודם כל, מה לעזאזל הולך עם הצלמים האלה? ראיתי אותם יותר מאשר את הלהקות. החארות הקטנות היו בכל מקום – מאחורי הבמה, על הבמה, לפני הבמה, אינסוף הבזקים וסיבובים על הבמה חופשי. לא באתי לראות ילדודס מסתובבים על הבמה ומצלמים, באתי לראות ילדודס מנגנים מוסיקה. שלוש-ארבע בנות ואיזה בחורצ'יק זחלו על הבמה כמו תיקנים לאורך כל הערב. אבא קנה מצלמת ריפלקס? סבבה, תתנהגו כמו בני אדם. זה לא פוטו סשן מחורבן, והבמה היא לא של אבא שלכם. אני מקווה. אז תזדיינו לכם בשקט, תוכלו חרא, ותמותו לאט. עד כמה שזה מוזר, למוסיקאים זה לא הפריע – אולי הם נהנים ממצלמות בפרצוף והבזקים בעיניים. באווירה שכזאת, ובגלל העשן על הבמה, החלטתי לא לצלם כלום – אז אין תמונות, יש רק סיפור.
חיסלתי בקבוק יין בדרך (אל תקנו יין מיקבי תבור – יין מחורבן במחיר מופרז) והגעתי בזמן לראות את "פנטום פיין", שבדיוק עלו לבמה. לא רע. דת' מטאל נעים כזה, קצת איטי לטעמי. החברה מנגנים טוב, אך לא שמעתי שום דבר חדש או שונה ממה שקיים בז'אנר. אני לא חושב שאני אזהה אותם כשאשמע את המוסיקה ואגיד "היי, זה פנטום פיין". בסך הכל הם בסדר, לסולן יש קול מצויין. חבורת בני הטיפשעשרה ליד הבמה הפיקה פוגו רך ומעצבן – לא הייתה אפשרות לעמוד ליד הבמה בלי שאיזה גמד זועם יתנגש בך - המקום אינו גדול מספיק. נכנסתי ודחפתי כמה אנשים – אך זה לא היה מעניין. הקהל הבוגר יותר הושיב עצמו מסביב לבר ולגם בירה עם הבעות פנים משועממות. זה היה הביקור הראשון שלי בסבליים, המקום בסדר, עיצוב טוב, ספות, בר נוח, אך לא הייתי קורא לו מועדון – יותר בר גדול עם במה בגודל בינוני. יותר מ 200 איש לא יכנסו לשם אם ברצונם לנשום ולנוע. הסאונד היה בסדר חוץ מנפילות במיקרופונים פה ושם.
ההופעה של גודרת' הייתה מאכזבת. אחרי שראיתי אותם לפני מספר חודשים בירושליים נותנים הופעה מרוכזת, מהירה ועצבנית של חצי שעה – ציפיתי למשהוא בסגנון. מבחינה מוסיקלית הכל היה בסדר, אבל הכמויות הענקיות של דיבורי סרק בין השירים פשוט הרסו את הדרייב. יותר מדי בולשיט, יותר מדי מילים, תודות, אורחים עם הפעלות מטומטמות – "בואו לבמה", "תעשו בלאגן"... ההופעה הפכה לאיזו מסיבה עם רקע מוסיקלי. כשהתעצבנתי סופית ורציתי כבר ללכת – ההופעה נגמרה. היו בעיות טכניות עם השירה – לפעמים בקושי שמעו אותה. גרסת הכיסוי של ספולטורה הייתה בסדר, זו של סליפנוט הייתה הרבה יותר טובה מהמקור. בכל אופן לא וויתרתי על הלהקה – מקווה לקאות אותם בתנאים יותר טובים.
עצבני ומפוכח הלכתי הבייייתה בלי לקנות את ה אי.פי. כמתוכנן. לא נראה לי שאלך להשקות בזמן הקרוב.
